Alpe d’Huez, France
Located in the southern Alps, Alpe d’Huez is one of the ski resorts with the most green and blue runs. It has 49km of green pistes and 54km of blue slopes, which are ideal for first-time skiers and early intermediates looking for a ski holiday in France. We recommend Villard as a lovely wide blue piste to head to. It’s reasonably long but has easy terrain heading to the beautiful village of Villard Reculas. A great run to get your ski legs prepared for the day.

Breckenridge, USA
Breckenridge has some great easy terrain below the tree-line to explore on your ski holiday to the USA. The resort in Colorado has 18km of green runs and 32km of blue slopes. It has a great snow record and the pistes are prepared for perfection. An ideal place to progress on the easier slopes. You can try the Upper Lehman blue run which can be accessed from the Mercury Superchair. This is ideal if you want to do some turns in peace because it’s usually away from the crowds.

Ellmau, Austria
Part of the SkiWelt ski area, Ellmau has a fantastic reputation for easy terrain. Although it doesn’t have any marked green runs there’s an impressive 122km of blue slopes to try. If you’re a beginner or early intermediate looking for a skiing holiday in Austria, this resort is geared up for you. Take the heated gondola to the Hartkaiser peak, where you ski a lovely blue run curving back down to the main village. This resort is ideal for families and first-time skiers.

La Plagne, France
Connected to the Paradiski ski area, La Plagne is a ski resort with some of the most blue runs. If you’re a beginner or early intermediate you can enjoy 170km of blue pistes during your stay. This ski resort has something for everyone so it offers an ideal for families and mixed ability groups. Levasset blue is a 5.2km blue run that is wide open and flat. A great part of the piste map, to take your time down the mountain and admire the views.

Lech, Austria
One of the more luxurious ski resorts in the Arlberg ski area, Lech has some great easy pistes to try. The ski resort has some of the most blue runs with 133km worth to explore. The Austrian ski resort has a wide variety of terrain, perfect for mixed ability groups. If you want a long cruise, take the blue 200 heading from Lech to Oberlech through to the main village. It’s a gentle slope with stunning views as you head down.

Les Deux Alpes, France
Spread across the piste map, Les Deux Alpes has a variety of green and blue runs around the mountain. It is one of the ski resorts with the most green runs because of the 46km of green slopes to explore. On top of this, there is 118km of blue runs to ski too, fantastic for beginner and early intermediate skiers. We recommend taking the Bellecombes 1 green piste to the Bellecombes chairlift, where you can admire spectacular views of Mont Blanc at the top of the lift.

Les Menuires, France
If you are a beginner or early intermediate visiting Les Menuires, you’ll be spoilt for choice for appropriate slopes. It’s one of the ski resorts with the most green and blues runs, with a whopping 96k of green slopes and a further 240km of blue pistes. Part of the Three Valleys ski area the choice is vast on the mountain. If you are a first-timer, we recommend trying the La Violette green run. It’s a long sweeping flat slope not far from the nursery slope. Great for progression.

Soldeu, Andorra
Part of the Grandvalira ski area, Soldeu is a great destination for beginners looking for a ski holiday to Andorra. There are 24 green runs and 54 blue runs in the area. Plenty of choice to progress from the nursery slopes. A good confidence-building run you can try is the Gall de Bosc blue piste in the treeline. It’s flat and heads through the trees from Espiolets to Soldeu and El Tarter.

Val d’Isère, France
Val d’Isère is one of the most popular ski destinations in the world. It is also one of the ski resorts with the most green and blue runs. You can explore 53km of green pistes and 147km of blue runs within the Espace Killy ski area. Linking to neighbouring ski resort Tignes there’s a wide variety of slopes. In particular, the Bellevarde area has a great network of green and blue runs for beginners to enjoy.

Verbier, Switzerland
