I was brought up in Aberdeen, so my first skiing experience was on a dry ski slope in Alford between November – February. I then mastered the ice fields of The Lecht (in the Cairngorms), so by the time I got on my first Alpine holiday, the slopes of Méribel were easy. Needless to say, I got the bug, and after university, I went to Méribel and after numerous frozen margaritas, I got my first job as a ski guide. I’ve been working for ski tour operators ever since, and have had some fantastic experiences in more than 70 resorts throughout the USA, Canada, Scandinavia, and The Alps.

My specialty over the last 20 years has been North America, where I have skied resorts such as Aspen Snowmass, Vail, Park City, Jackson Hole and Whistler, many times. I’ve also done some amazing road trips combining some of the lesser-known resorts in Canada, Colorado, Utah, California and New England, adding in city stays such as San Francisco or Las Vegas, and the Utah/Arizona National Parks. I get great satisfaction when a client comes back from a trip saying ‘that was the best holiday I’ve ever had.’
