Ross
My first skiing experience was before I can remember, aged four in the Portes du Soleil ski area, in Châtel in France. Growing up, I developed a love of adventure and awe of the mountains. During university, I took a year out to go skiing for the winter and then windsurfing. In my first season, I worked night shifts in Serre Chevalier so I could ski until 3pm every day. Since then, I’ve skied all over the Alps, Scandinavia, and Canada. I can’t get enough and it’s safe to say I’m addicted.
I fell into the ski industry looking for any old job when I got home from a ski season (Austria this time), and worked in tailor-made ski travel in my hometown of Brighton. It turned out that I loved the job, and after a few years there I joined Ski Solutions. It’s gratifying to organise a brilliant trip, especially for people who have never skied before or those wanting twin centres in Canada. Travelling to ski destinations for work is particularly enjoyable, with a highlight being Saas Fee.

If I could choose anywhere to go next, it would be a close call between Hokkaido, Mammoth or Jackson Hole. Excluding heli-skiing in Alaska of course! I love dropping in on powder more than anything, so anywhere without too many crowds and good snow is fine by me.
What My Clients Say
“Ross was patient and informative. He worked hard to meet our needs which, in fairness, were not straightforward. These guys really are the experts and take the uncertainty and hassle out of planning a trip. I will definitely use them again.” – Ian
Top Tip
Decide where to go each day based on the conditions. For example, suppose it’s dumping with snow, head for treelined areas to have more visibility and avoid busy areas on weekends.
Best Moment
A day with a Canadian guide and Olympic trainer in Whistler Blackcomb, hitting some challenging terrain and going outside my comfort zone!
