Les Crosets Ski Resort
Champoussin and Les Crosets are two neighbouring resorts in the Val d’Illiez region of the Portes du Soleil ski area. The two ski resorts are seen to be a ‘back door’ to one of the biggest winter playgrounds in the world, over 650km of ski terrain.
Les Crosets sits at the higher altitude of the two ski resorts, at 1670m, and reaches a total altitude of 2,277m. While Champoussin sits slightly lower at 1,037m and reaches 2,146m. At the most northern ascent in Les Crosets, skiers can drop into the popular ski resort of Avoriaz, in France.
Les Crosets and Champoussin are a great starting point for discovering the Franco-Swiss ski region, enjoy a typically Swiss hot chocolate in the morning and head over to France for lunch for a croque monsieur or perhaps a warming French onion soup. For those ski addicts, there is the ‘Swiss loop’, which entails a day of hard skiing across the entirety of the Portes du Soleil, an achievement for all.
Les Crosets is home to the infamous ‘Swiss Wall’, which is a measurement of skiing ability with 37 degrees of inclination and 1.3km of ski slope, it is not for the faint-hearted.
