Snow Sports Foundation

We are proud to be supporting the Snow Sports Foundation (SSF) as our official charity partner. Snow Sports Foundation’s mission is to provide life-changing experiences and employability to those with additional needs, mental health challenges, disabilities, financial hardship, and social or exceptional circumstances through inclusive snow sports coaching.

The lessons take place in The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, where students can build their ski confidence, both on and off the slopes. Through skiing and snowboarding, SSF helps to develop their student’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being.

The funds we raise will help SSF to continually deliver snow sports opportunities for their students on their ongoing mission to make skiing accessible to as many people as possible. This ranges from ski lessons, to ski instructor qualifications and support groups for young carers.

Our Contribution

  • In August 2024, four members of our team are tackling a cycle challenge from Brixton, London, to one of our top selling resorts, Val d’Isère, France, to raise money for SSF. Further still, we donate £1 per passenger to SSF for every tailor-made ski holiday booked with us.

About Snow Sports Foundation

Snow Sports Foundation: The Work

The Work

People with additional needs, disabilities, and financial hardship often face barriers that prevent them from experiencing the slopes. SSF generates funds to promote and deliver snow sports opportunities to as many people as possible. This includes everything from familiarising students with ski gear, to getting them onto the snow. With the help of SSF, students begin to grow in confidence both on and off the slopes.

Snow Sports Foundation: The Result

The Result

SSF is passionate about raising awareness of the benefits that snow sports can provide. This includes not just the ability to ski or snowboard, but also improved self-confidence, concentration, social interaction, fitness levels, motivation and listening skills. Their team are working towards a world where everyone, whatever their personal circumstance, is given the opportunity to transform their lives through snow sports.

Snow Sports Foundation: Snowbility

Snowbility

SSF is partnered with Snowbility, who are the main snow sports provider of the additional needs’ students SSF fund. Snowbility has a team of fully qualified ski and snowboard instructors with the knowledge, experience, and passion to provide one-to-one tailor-made coaching for a wide range of complex physical, psychological, and mental health needs, including learning disabilities, autism, dyspraxia, and deafness. Together with Snowbility, SSF work in partnership with the students, families, carers and other health and social care professionals to develop a personalised programme centred round the needs of everyone.

Bike Ride

London To Val d’Isère Charity Bike Ride for SSF

In August 2024, four brave members of our team embarked on a week-long cycling challenge, starting from our London office (Brixton), all the way to one of our top-selling ski resorts in France, Val d’Isère, in aid of Snow Sports Foundation.

With a fundraising target of £5,000 in mind, the challenge was to cycle an average of 130km per day, to reach Val d’Isère by the end of the week. Read our blog to see how it went.

Rachel’s Story

Rachel (Chase) has Asperger’s and EDS, which puts her at a high risk of injury. The white and peaceful conditions on the slopes kick-started Rachel’s passion for snowboarding, a skill she learnt with the help of SSF.
